I just had these installed over my island. Beautiful. I would suggest 40 watt soft glow bulbs. They can be very bright.

Lights are beautiful but be aware that if you install more than one it will create a shadow in the form of a line in the ceiling. We have a dimer so we don’t turn them completely on to avoid the line.
